The Education For Employment-Maroc, known as EFE-Maroc, is an association under Moroccan law founded in 2008 and governed by the Dahir (Decree) No. 1-58-376 of November 15, 1958, regulating the right of association in Morocco.

Our mission is to address youth unemployment by bridging the gap between labor market needs and the existing hard and soft skills of young job seekers. EFE-Maroc offers demand-driven skills trainings delivered by certified trainers and covering technical, commercial, behavioral and linguistic competencies. We place our graduates in career-launching and high-demand sectors such as: offshoring, automotive, aeronautics, ICT, agribusiness, tourism, retail, banking and insurance.

EFE-Maroc operates in Casablanca, Rabat, Tangier, Tetouan, Al Hoceima, Fes, Meknes, Marrakesh and Safi. Our network of 500+ certified trainers allows us to deliver trainings across the country.

EFE-Maroc currently has over 70,000 graduates from its programs, with a female participation rate of 54%.

The EFE network

EFE-Maroc is an affiliate of the Education For Employment (EFE) Network, the leading youth employment organization in the Middle East and North Africa that transforms the future with youth through the dignity of work. The EFE Network operates in Egypt, Jordan, Morocco, Palestine, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia and Yemen, with support hubs in the USA, Europe, and the UAE. With more than 167 000 graduates (59% are women), 3 700 public and private partners and 2 000 certified trainers. EFE is the leader in youth employability in North Africa and the Middle East.

EFE’s strength lies in its network of locally-run NGOs, or EFE Affiliates, each led by a local Board of Directors and staff who develop area-specific solutions to youth unemployment. These teams are reinforced by experts in our support offices who provide technical assistance and capacity building among EFE Affiliates to assure on operational excellence.

Our Goal

MENA has the largest youth population in the world, but also the highest youth unemployment rates. That’s a lot of untapped potential in one place. Imagine what all that young energy and talent could do for this region’s future and its economy if given the chance!

Mismatches are at the heart of these high youth unemployment rates. There is a dramatic misalignment between the skills taught in local educational institutions and the needs of the labor market. And there are other mismatches, too: mismatches between the types of jobs that youth are raised to expect, and what is available in the job market. Mismatches between the number of jobs that require social “connections” to secure, and the ambitious, able youth who are desperate to hold those jobs. Youth with limited social capital, and young women, in particular, are the worst off. So we took action.

EFE helps young women and men through demand-driven training programs that link them to the world of work while creating opportunities for them to develop their professional skills, build social capital and engage in their communities. At the same time, EFE works to improve the attitudes of educators, employers, and families to change how youth are prepared for the workforce.
